Social Media in Product Management /cc @spatially

Great slideshow by John Gatrell, especially interesting for slide 19: Social Media in Product Management (mainly as a feedback loop). I'm not sure what to think of the title, No Such Thing As Social Products. Of course, social is all about people (as opposed to networks, tools, channels, etc). But there must be products that either fascinate or irritate people so much that they are the starting point of many conversations online. I've been in Marketing for the last five or six years or so, with the last 1,5 years unable to touch/change/create the "product". A frustrating experience, because no super social media/ad campaign can "fix" a product that doesn't make people talk about it, let alone recommend it.
