It's obviously attention whoring day in Ads Land. Don't get me wrong: I fully support Earth Day (on 20 March). For example, by not plugging in the power cords of my legion of gizmos for a full 24 hours. I might even try analog cooking. But what the "creative" people of exit3a (warning: arty farty website) have done really baffles me: they made up posters for Earth day with slogans like Mother Fuckers - Oil Companies are running the earth to the ground and Who's Fucking Your Mother Today.
Let's get a few things straight:
- Lousy Photoshop job, guys. Especially if you're an ad agency, which you claim to be.
- Ditto for the baseline. Referring to blaxploitation movie slang was cool back in the nineties. Even Tarantino moved on since then. Besides, nobody really wants to know who's penetrating their mother's vagina. The sheer idea that their mother is having sex is, well, disconcerting to anyone, from small children to grown-ups.
- If Greenpeace's marketing or brand manager is only half as nasty as I am, you're in for a kick in the head. I doubt if you guys even asked Greenpeace if it's ok to use their logo like that.
- I bet you didn't even check the rights on the 2 pictures you're using. I propose give the farkers a lot of free publicity, so the copyright lawyers find them more quickly. Counting on you, Coolz0r, with your high pagerank and all.
